Coronavirus banned from moving between municipalities. At least for the days 25, 26 December and 1 January. This is what was established by the decree-law of 2 December. But the legislative decree could undergo variations . There have been several criticisms following that decision. There was talk of isolation for elderly people. Worse than isolation for those who unfortunately live alone, away from family. The decree has not yet been decided
Coronavirus, the new decree. What will change?
Prime Minister Conte might have decided to change the decree . And to allow families living in different municipalities to come together. At least at Christmas. So the old saying “Christmas with your parents” is having the desired effects? It seems so. Even if, at least until today, a concrete and definitive decision has not yet been taken. On the other hand, the “Christmas” story had raised various controversies for municipalities and provinces. Municipalities that are too small would be penalized. Or those with low population density. Or, as mentioned, the elderly who live alone and who are waiting for the mythical holiday to reunite with their family.
The proposals of the Regions
Meanwhile, some regions, such as Piedmont and Liguria, had launched the counter-proposal. A way had been put on the negotiating table to ban travel only outside the province. No longer out of the ordinary. Given the presence of municipalities with very low population density, we are talking about a maximum of 5,000 inhabitants, who, in the event of isolation, would be disadvantaged compared to large cities. It should also be emphasized that in these small municipalities, for the most part, only the elderly or lonely people live. Leaving them isolated on this year-end celebration would really have meant a very different Christmas than the others. And too much for the worse. However, the downside remains. A third wave is feared if space is given to “free all”.As it happened this summer. Or in the States as a result of the Thanksgiving holiday .
